  • The Rival (Uncensored) – A Gay Romance Novel

Six months ago, Mecyll Gaspary began working on her novel “The Rival” after years of storing it on Wattpad as an unpublished manuscript. Though she finished it in 2018, she couldn’t work on it sooner due to her hectic schedule as a freelance writer.
It wasn’t until this year that she mustered enough courage to face this fear.
Although being “busy” was a thing for her — writing blog posts, newsletters, and content for clients — beneath the surface was an untold story of her as a novelist and her relationship with fear.
After unpublishing her first nonfiction book March this year, which almost cost her access to Amazon KDP, she remembered her anxiety was through the roof. Her whole body shuddered, and she was creatively paralyzed.
Little did she know the answer to her eternal search for purpose were in her stories. She was born a storyteller, apparently working in the wrong writing field.
With the help of her fellow INFJ writers, including the bestselling author Laura Sapala, her family in the Philippines, and her husband, she found the courage inside her she thought wasn’t there.
This email is written to invite you to be a beta reader for her upcoming romance novel “The Rival (Uncensored): A Gay Romance Novel.

    Synopsis
This is the UNCENSORED Version of this novel.
When Chen eventually decided to move on, he had no idea what he was in for, as he and Alex were compelled to collaborate for the university’s charity event. Despite his fame at school as the leader and drummer of a rock band, Alex lives the life of a hermit — aloof, remote, and mysterious.
For years, both men have despised and blamed each other for producing problems as a result of their violent rivalry over musical and personality differences. They had no idea they shared similar problems outside of music. Alex has always blamed himself for the death of his sister, Sam, while Chen had no knowledge that his opponent was not only his competition but also Sam’s former fiancee.
Could Chen forgive Alex, who had such a tumultuous past? Could Alex be willing to let go of his shame and accept Chen’s unforgettably beautiful love? What will become of our two main characters? Will they be able to have a “normal” love life, or will their trust difficulties take over?
